Gabriella Biró has over 20 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity, spanning roles from consultant and Chief Security Officer to Head of IT Supervision of the financial sector at the Central Bank of Hungary. She is currently a freelance security expert specializing in the financial sector, a trainer, a doctoral student and assistant lecturer at the Ludovika University of Public Service, and an active leader in the professional community in Hungary. She holds AAISM, AAIR, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, CCSP, CEH and CFE certifications. She is a Board member of the ISC2 Hungary Chapter, Board member of ISACA Hungary Chapter and the current president and co-founder of WITSEC (Women in IT Security).

The transition from localized ICT incidents to systemic financial shocks is no longer a theoretical risk—it is a macro-prudential reality. As the European financial sector navigates the post-DORA landscape, understanding the transmission channels of cyber contagion is critical for both regulators and industry leaders.

This session deconstructs how operational disruptions escalate into systemic crises. We will move beyond individual institutional resilience to examine the "plumbing" of the European financial architecture, focusing on the concentration risks of critical service providers and the role of the EU-SCICF in coordinated crisis response. Join this session for a rigorous look at how we move from preventing the "if" to absorbing the "when."
